Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen. Instituted in 1941, the Badge was awarded to crewmembers who participated in twelve sorties against enemy vessels or installations, displayed outstanding leadership, partook in a particularly successful mission, or were wounded during the course of action.
Kriegsabzeichen Fur Hilfskreuzer. Instituted in 1941, the Badge was awarded to crewmembers of auxiliary cruiser or supply ships who had participated in a "successful long-distance voyage". It could also be awarded for outstanding leadership or for being wounded during such a voyage.
Abzeichen Fur Blockaderbreicher. Instituted in 1941, the Badge was awarded to personnel who served on merchant marine ships and other naval vessels who attemted to break through sea blockades imposed by enemy forces. Criteria for the award were: (a) To bring the ship into a German or German-held port after successfully running an enemy blockade; (b) To scuttle the ship to avoid capture; (c) To serve aboard a ship or to be wounded aboard a ship during the course of an action while at sea; (d) For displaying daring and courage while preventing the ship from falling into enemy hands.
